Heating TipsHEATING TIPS
• Before calling you heating contractor during the COLD winter days, please check the following. These small tips can help you save a lot of frustration and money……….

• Check your thermostat. Make sure it is on heat mode and the degree is set at your comfort level. If you do not understand your thermostat call your heating contractor and request a manual.

• Go through your home and make sure all your registers are open.

• If your home is zoned, make sure all necessary zones are on. On extremely COLD days, you may want to turn all your zones on the get full operation out of your furnace.

• Close all windows, blinds, and curtains. This will help keep the cold out and the heat in.

• Change filters at least every six months. If your furnace is running, but there is not a lot of air flow, it could possibly mean a dirty, clogged filter.

• Sign up on an Ultimate Service Plan. This ensures a professional cleaning and filter change for each system yearly (See Ultimate Service Plan for details).

• Understand that in extreme temperatures, your furnace will run often to maintain temperature setting. Your thermostat may not break 70° depending on the size of the furnace, size of home, and the activity in the home.

• If you constantly are having HOT or COLD spots in your home, you might want to consider zoning your home. This will help eliminate trouble spots. For more information on zoning, please call 321-8663.
